The Challenge
A particular conference was holding 300 educational sessions across 50 different rooms. Event management needed a cost-effective solution that would allow them to track the attendance of these education sessions and provide real-time reporting for onsite CEU certificate printing. Since the reports needed to be in real-time, the traditional method of session tracking, where attendees are scanned at the door of each session and the data is uploaded after the event, was not a viable solution.
One proposed alternative was to attach scanners to laptops with internet connections. This system could instantly send session attendance information to an online database for immediate attendee credit and certificate printing. However, this was not an effective solution as equipment rentals, multiple internet connections, and the need for additional staff made the system far too expensive to implement.
The Solution
